Hawesome: A neighborhood benefit series on the Haw River

Slip into a boat for a unique paddle meet-up on the Haw River, with local food, drinks, and music to enjoy from the comfort of your own boat on the river. Celebrate and support the organizations, artisans, and adventurers who bring life and community to the Haw River, the crown jewel of this area we all love.
Please consider making a $10 donation to Haw River Assembly before the meet-up. Then, lean into opportunities to buy outdoor services and culinary refreshments from Saxapahaw small businesses, all while floating and paddling on the beautiful Haw River, enjoying two sets of local live music playing off a dock.
How Do You Do Something Hawesome?
- Register: Complete registration on this form, and please consider making a $10 donation to Haw River Assembly.
- Rent: Don’t have watercraft? Rent kayak/canoe/SUP from Haw River Canoe and Kayak Co. (links provided in form). If you have your own and don’t need to rent, even better!
- River: Paddle from Saxapahaw Lake Paddle Access to dockside location about ~15-20 minutes one way. Pack and plan to spend 3 hours on water in total, 4-7pm.
- Refreshments: Fill up on tempeh burritos from By The Brook Ferments x Hatch Breakfast Burritos (place order in form) and wash it down with mead from Haw Honey.
- Rock: Enjoy 2 sets from Joseph Terrell (Mipso) from the comfort of your own boat, floating on the water. Music 5-6:30. Sound from Frog in the Fog Music.
- Re-Do: More Hawesome’s planned, all organized by Boogixote, in collaboration and with support from everyone mentioned here.
*This is a rain or shine event. If rain/weather forecast is too threatening for being on the river, we will hold the concert at Saxapahaw Country Club, just across the Haw River. Confirmation to be made at June 29th at 12pm, to allow for rental cancellations if needed.*
