Haw River Camps
HRA partners with Haw River Canoe and Kayak to offer adventure camps for 8-12 year old participants.
Adventure camps are designed to engage campers with the outdoors through different on-water and on-land activities. In addition to time spent paddling, campers hike different sections of trails along the Haw River throughout the week. Campers will learn about the Haw River – the aquatic life, water quality and more.
HRA staff and volunteers offer 2 sessions where campers learn about the river ecosystem and watershed stewardship. Campers also conduct scientific exploration of the river through hands on water quality sampling as well as macroinverterbrate collection and identification.
Special overnight camping trip has been added to the Thursday night of each week.
Adventure Camps are from 9:00AM to 4:00PM five days a week.
