Help us keep the Learning Celebration flowing by contributing to our 2016 Crowdfunder! Our goal is $5000, help us get there.
We need everyone’s help to put on this year’s greatly anticipated, 26th Annual Haw River Assembly’s riverside environmental education program for 4th graders, The Haw River Learning Celebration. We are incredibly excited but times are especially tough right now. Can you help us raise the $5000 we need to deliver this amazing hands-on river experience to 1500 students?
Here’s how your contribution can keep our program thriving:
$5 – Every donation counts, and could possibly change a child’s life forever.
$10 – Sends 3 students to the LC for one day
$25 – Provides materials for the Clay, Stream Steward, Nature Art Learning Stations for one day
$50 – Keeps the educational puppet show, “A Haw Story” going
$100 – Feeds the entire volunteer crew for 1 meal
$250 – Sends 2 watershed schools to the Learning Celebration
$500 – Covers transportation costs associated with moving all educational materials and volunteer supplies to 3 different sites.
The Learning Celebration budget is modest and pays for on-site staff and the supplies needed for three weeks of camp and program time for the volunteers and schoolchildren at three sites along the river. Our team of up to 150 crew members, food providers, and site movers’ work for love of cause and community, but none of it could happen without funding. We keep the cost to the schools very small, and no child is turned away for lack of field trip money. As environmental education programs are being slashed in schools and communities due to budget cuts, we know that the Learning Celebration is more important than ever!
